ABOUT BARBORA

I can't say that my journey to flowers was straightforward. I don't come from a family of florists nor was it my dream to work with flowers since I was a child. What I have had since my childhood is the love for nature and a creative soul.

It all started in London where I went to study my Masters. After university I worked in the hospitality industry for many years until I reached a point when I realised that I was missing creativity in my professional life. Luckily London is a magical place where everything is possible and your dream can really come true if you follow it. In 2012 I quit my job, completed an intensive course at Judith Blacklock Flower School and became a florist.

The flower course was just a starting point, I honed most of my skills while working for some of the top floral designers in London and Barcelona. I've mastered making different types of flower arrangements, from flower bouquets to weekly displays for hotels and private members' clubs as well as wedding and events installations, big and small. I also helped to organise and run numerous flower workshops teaching flower enthusiasts how to design and make flower arrangements for different occasions at home. The highlight of my florist career so far was designing flowers for a Diamond Jubilee lunch with the Commonwealth Nations Heads of Government  in London's Marlborough House with a very special guest, Queen Elisabeth II.

Later my husband and I decided to leave London and start a family. We moved all around Europe for a few years, welcomed our beautiful son to our lives and finally settled in the city of Budapest. All that time I didn't stop thinking about flowers though! I always knew I would come back to floristry, I missed the feeling of happiness and satisfaction when seeing the smiles on the customers' faces whenever I handed them a bouquet or finished a flower installation.

After considering all pros and cons I have recently decided to open an online flower shop in Budapest offering a small selection of bouquets and simple bunches as well as flower subscriptions for those who can't get enough of flowers and want to have them at home on a regular basis. At the moment I work from a studio in the 13th district and deliver make-to-order bouquets to addresses or collection points in Budapest.

I honestly believe that beautiful things can be created with respect to nature and in a more sustainable way. I try to use seasonal flowers and foliage from local growers and natural materials as much as I can. I am passionate about creating beautiful and unique flower arrangements that will bring a bit of nature to your home and make you smile every time you look at them.
